PVLL Background Check Policy
Background Check Requirement
Every individual who volunteers in any capacity with PVLL—including managers, coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, umpires, board members, and any adult with regular access to players—must complete and pass an annual background check before participating in any league activities.
Type of Background Check
PVLL conducts all background checks using Little League’s official provider, JDP/First Advantage, which screens:
National criminal databases
Sex offender registries
State and federal directories required by Little League International
Scope and Limitations
Background checks are annual and must be completed each season.
PVLL does not receive subsequent arrest or conviction notifications from law enforcement or JDP/First Advantage.
Volunteers are required to notify the PVLL President immediately if they are arrested, charged with, or convicted of any offense that may affect their eligibility to volunteer.
Privacy & Confidentiality
All information obtained through background checks is kept strictly confidential and is reviewed only by designated PVLL board members as required by Little League guidelines.
Background check results are used solely for the purpose of determining volunteer eligibility.
Compliance
Volunteers who refuse to submit to a background check cannot participate in any PVLL activities.
Failure to report changes in criminal history may result in immediate removal from volunteer duties.
Every volunteer that works with PVLL will have a background check.
Background checks cover both State and Federal.
We do not receive subsequent arrest notifications.
