PAJARO VALLEY LITTLE LEAGUE CODE OF CONDUCT  

The goal of Pajaro Valley Little League is to implant firmly in the children of our community the ideals of good sportsmanship, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, good citizenship, courage and respect for authority while our children learn the skills of baseball.  In order to achieve these goals, the Board of Directors of Pajaro Valley Little League has implemented the following Code of Conduct.  By signing in the space below you acknowledge that you understand, agree with and will comply with this Code of Conduct.

I and my guests: 

• Agree that doing one’s best is more important than winning.  We will praise all players for competing fairly and trying hard.
• Will emphasize skill development and practices over winning.
• Will remember that our children participate in baseball to have fun and that the game is for our children.
• Will be a positive role model for our children and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every game and practice.
• Will not speak disrespectfully or use profane, obscene, or vulgar language in any manner, at any time towards, our children, coaches, officials, or other spectators.
• Will not challenge an umpire’s authority or verbally abuse an umpire over any real or imaginary belief of a wrong decision, call or judgment.
• Will not appear on the field of play, stands, or anywhere on the Little League complex while in an intoxicated state.
• Will resolve conflicts without resorting to intimidation, hostility, or violence.
• Will treat all parents, guardians, managers, coaches, players and spectators with respect, regardless of race, creed, color, gender or ability.
• Will never ridicule or yell at a player, manager, or coach for making a mistake.
• Will promote the emotional and physical well-being of players over any personal desire to win.
• Will refrain from coaching players during game and practices unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.

I have read the Pajaro Valley Little League Code of Conduct and promise to adhere to its rules and regulations.
